WHERE TO WORK?

Some notes taken when reading about graphic design in the film industry. Film is a big interest of mine, I had orginally intended to study film at university following my a-levels but later decided graphic design was more exciting to me in terms of a career path. Although film has become more of a hobby, I wanted to look into combining the two.

Summary of Aspirations

My perfect job would be running a my own brand (clothing etc) while taking on some freelance work on the side. However, though I understand all design work is extremely competitive, I believe that career path will be especially hard to achieve. 
When doing briefs I really enjoyed two specfically; the book jackets for penguin and the editorial work. 
I work best digitally so after looking into career path involving the film industry (which seems to be mostly prop based), I will keep film as a hobby and look into the other routes mentioned.
